Anthony Gath was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and is the oldest of six children.
He developed a love for Latin and Greek in high school. Mr. Gath earned a B.A. in Mathematics
and a B.A. in Classics and Early Christian Literature from Ave Maria University.
Immediately upon graduation, he began working as a Middle School Mathematics teacher in the
Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. In the classroom, Mr. Gath seeks to not only teach practical
applications of the material, but also to instill in the students an appreciation for the order and
beauty within the structures of Mathematics – which is evidence of the Good and Omniscient
God.
In his free time, Anthony enjoys reading Scripture in ancient Greek, playing chess, altar-serving,
and practicing jiu-jitsu. Having been active in the Boy Scouts for several years, he also enjoys
camping and hiking in the wilderness. He is an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.
Mr. Gath is always open to discussing Mathematics, Latin, or Greek with others
