I grew up in Jasper–the Pineywoods of East Texas. I graduated from Lamar University with a degree in nursing and subsequently became a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. I have worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of settings, including Medical Surgical, Emergency Room and Obstetrics. I have also volunteered my nursing services with the Catholic Medical Mission Board in Saint Lucia, Christian Foundation for Children and Aging in Bangalore, India, and Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India. I am a member of the National Association of School Nurses and Texas School Nurses Organization. I’m also an accredited International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and La Leche League Leader. I’m a Unit Leader with American Heritage Girls Troop TX1001 and assist with Cub Scout Pack 1828.
I was inspired to go into nursing by my mother who has been a nurse for forty-five years. I have always enjoyed reaching out to others, extending Jesus’ ministry through helping the sick, especially children. As Saint Teresa of Calcutta stated, “Wherever God has put you, that is your vocation. It is not what we do, but how much love we put into it.” My husband Mark and I have four children, Mary, Monica, Benedict, and Timothy.
I look forward to supporting a safe and healthy environment for all the faculty and students at this school, and keeping the school in full compliance with state health regulations and screenings.
