I grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia in the Upper Ohio Valley. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in World Religions with a concentration in Asian Studies.
Prior to becoming an educator, I had a lengthy career in commercial and private aviation. This afforded me the opportunity to travel extensively and live in many different cities and countries. It is through this career that Houston became my home. Houston is also where I met my husband to whom I have been blissfully wed for 26 years.
I earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum from Houston Baptist University and hold several professional certifications. I have been teaching for 18 years in both public and private settings, including the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Most recently I taught middle school history at Saint Vincent de Paul, although most of my career has been with the elementary grades of kindergarten through fifth.
I am delighted to be teaching elementary students again, especially in such a Christ-centered classical setting. Student first, as being, is the hallmark of a classical education. Development of spirit, mind, and body is the quintessential paradigm of learning and is why I have dedicated myself to teaching. I look forward to getting acquainted with all of the faculty, families, and students here at Saint Theresa Catholic School. God bless!
