As a school, Saint Theresa earned official recognition at the state level of PSIA, coming in 6th in the Elementary division, and tying for 10th in the Middle School division. This is a remarkable accolade, given that we have only been involved with PSIA for two years and we have less than 240 students.
On May 4, 2019, 18 of our students descended upon the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth for the competition. STCS had ten students earn places in the following categories: David Trinh 1st in 8th Grade Maps, Graphs, and Charts; Nikita Dementyev 6th place for 3rd Grade Mathematics; Geneva Perry 7th place in 8th Grade Mathematics; Chimikasi Ezike 10th place in 5th Grade Music Memory; Ana Granados 2nd place in 8th Grade Music Memory; Anastasia Dementyev 2nd place in 6th Grade Science; Clare Hayes 3rd place 5th Grade Spelling; Danica Tran 5th place 6th Grade Spelling; Adanno Okeke 9th place in 6th Grade Spelling; Samantha Court 1st place in 4th Grade Ready Writing; Carys Evans 2nd place in 4th Grade Ready Writing; and Clare Hayes 1st place in 5th Grade Ready Writing.
Mrs. Dara Haddad, Third Grade Homeroom Teacher, and Dr. Catherine Bilow, Latin Instructor and Head of Humanities, have done a remarkable job in organizing and leading our PSIA preparations this year.
