The Dickens Family
When our daughter was younger, my husband and I would say, “One day, she’ll have to go to school. Where will we send her?” We knew we were willing to make the sacrifices to send her to a Catholic School, we just didn’t know which one. Well, the good Lord was listening…our very own Parish was starting a school!
Why St. Theresa Catholic School (STCS)? We wanted an atmosphere where our child could openly praise and worship the Lord. The school environment is one of academia but also one of faith formation, an opportunity for our child to grow her faith base and enrich what we as parents are teaching her.
Enrolling our daughter at STCS has been a wonderful, positive experience. Being part of a start up school affords us ample opportunity to get involved as we believe in the mission and want the children and school to succeed. We believe our voices and efforts are important in building the education platform we want for our daughter. The sense of community and family is evident – we’re not lost in a large population, we believe we matter.
The school encourages fellowship through Christ while gaining a valuable education. Our Olivia has a genuine love for learning and loves sharing that with others. The one on one she gets from the staff we believe is an important part of her learning. The class lessons offer her the right amount of curiosity, drive, and challenge to want to learn.
Being part of STCS has brought us closer to Christ, we’re being “re-educated” in our faith. We’re a small family, just the three of us, but we love being in each other’s lives, learning from one another and sharing Christ. What our daughter is teaching us – “showing, sharing God’s love” – is making us a stronger family – correction, a stronger Christian Family.
In Christ, Stephanie, Rob and Olivia Dickens
