Ms. Srubar
Since 2007 I’ve been very blessed to teach in our Diocesan Catholic Schools system where I can daily fill the desire to help young people grow in their faith as loving children of God. I truly enjoy teaching Pre-K as each day is new and bursting with surprises. The young children are so full of wonder and imagination that serving and teaching them is both inspiring and humbling at the same time.
I am glad to teach Pre-K here as the challenging curriculum is taught lovingly with the goal of Sainthood for the children and teachers always before us. One of my students put it this way recently, “I am going to be Saint Kori when I get to heaven!” And then very seriously she turned to look me in the eyes and asked, “Are you going to celebrate my feast day when I get to heaven?”
When looking into a Pre-Kindergarten classroom, one might expect to find story time read-alouds, finger-plays, puppet shows, the alphabet and a fair share of counting. When peeking into Ms. Srubar’s Pre-K 4 classroom, of course you will find all of these things and more! The children also cheerfully participate in daily small group phonics lessons, recite poetry articulately and theatrically (from memory), present classroom theatre productions of classic fairy tales and fables, name US States, learn about the Mass and practice with small-scale replicas of the vessels used in Mass, play games which challenge their development of number sense, and work and play daily all for the Glory of God.
