Dr. Dean M. Cassella was born in New York City and grew up in Los Angeles. He has resided in four states and two foreign countries (Italy and Canada). Together with his dear wife, Sonja, and their six children, he has lived in Texas since 2002. His graduate education and teaching experience comprises both Classics and European History. Dr. Cassella’s primary professional interests are the application of conversational methods to the teaching of Latin and Greek, and the neo-Latin poetry of the Italian Renaissance. He is currently collaborating with Dr. Christophe Rico in Jerusalem on curriculum materials for the *Polis* series, by which ancient Greek is taught as a living language. His favorite thing to do is teach Latin to beginners.
